Brief Itinerary : Manali > Kaza (2 Nights) > Dhankar ( 1 Night) > Chandertaal Lake (1 Night) > and back to Manali

Today after breakfast you will leave for the full day sightseeing tour to explore the World’s highest Himalayan villages and monasteries around Kaza. We will drive you to Hikkim village where you visit the World’ highest Post office located (4,400 metres / 14,436 feet). You can write and send the post cards to your loved ones from here.

Later we will drive you to Komic village (4,587 metres / 15,050 feet) which is now the world’s highest village joined to a motorable road . We will visit the Komic monastery (women are not allowed inside the monastery.) The village provides magnificent Himalayan Mountain views.

Later we will drive you to visit the Langza village where you will visit the village monastery and the statue of the Buddha overlooking the snow capped mountain peaks. Langza village is the part of the most fossil rich areas in the world by the Geological Survey of India and the Geological Society of America.

Today we visit Key Monastery which is the largest monastery in Spiti valley. The monastery is an irregular jumble of low rooms and narrow corridors on a conical hill. The prayer chambers are interconnected by dark passages, tortuous staircases and small doors. Hundreds of monks receive their religious training in the monastery.

We will also visit the Kibber village which is the part of Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary. Here you have an option to walk to the nearby mountains where there are chances to search the big herds of Himalayan blue sheep and snow ibex , which can be seen in the nearby mountains. We will also visit the Chicham village and the Suspension bridge on a gorge - one of the highest bridge in Asia. Later drive back to Kaza for the second night stay or you can choose to stay 1 night in a home stay with a local family at Chicham Village.

Today morning on arrival at Manali by Luxury Volvo Coach you will be met by our driver and we began our exciting 4 Nights / 5 Days Spiti Valley Tour from Manali. On day 1 of the Spiti valley tour package from Manali, we drive you to Kaza (200 kms/ 8 hrs), through the Atal Tunnel, below Rohtang Pass in Lahaul Valley, which with a length of 9.02 kms. and is the longest tunnel above 10,000 feet in the world. The road stretch from Gramphoo to Losar over Kunzum Pass (80 kms), is a quiet rough, bumpy road and we cross couple of water streams this day. Our experienced and expert driver drives carefully and takes care of your comfort and safety on the Himalayan roads. We will stop for various photo breaks and lunch break on the way.

Today you will drive over the Kunzum Pass 4,551 metres/ 14,932 feet, which provides beautiful views of CB ranges and Himalayan Glaciers. Kunzum Pass is the Gateway from Manali and Lahaul valley to Spiti. The Bara Shigri glacier can be seen in front of the pass. Snow covered mountains and glaciers can be seen throughout the year from the Kunzum Pass which is open in early June to mid October depending on the snowfall. There is a temple dedicated to Goddess Kunzum, where each vehicle stops and takes blessing of the Goddess for their safe journey.

Arrive Kaza the sub-divisional headquarters of Spiti valley by evening where you will stay 2 nights in a hotel/ fixed tented accommodation or home stay as as per your choice.

Please Note: There are Overnight A/C Luxury Volvo buses from New Delhi to Manali directly 14 hrs which we can book for you at an extra cost. Even you have a choice to increase 1 day in your Spiti valley tour from Manali and you can extend the 1st night of the tour by staying in Manali. Kullu 45 kms before Manali has an airport but with limited expensive flights at time. Chandigarh airport is the second option close to Kullu Manali (292 kms / 9 hrs) and reasonable flights are available to Chandigarh airport from Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Chennai and from many other major cities in India. We can arrange flight tickets/ train tickets, Volvo tickets or pick up from Chandigarh which will cost you extra cost.

Today morning after breakfast check out at 09:00 AM and drive to Dhankar Village ( 142 kms/ 8 hrs sightseeing). We visit the Kungri monastery in the famous Pin valley, which is a side valley in Spiti and famous for the Pin valley National Park- home to a variety of rare animals like the snow Leopard, snow ibex, the Himalayan blue sheep and the thar.

Depending on the road condition we do visit the last village Mudh in Pin Valley. Later continue our drive to Tab. We will visit the Tabo monastery which is the oldest monastery in the Himalayas founded in 996 AD. Tabo Monastery is famous for its art and History and is the oldest continuously functioning Buddhist monument in the World and the Himalayas with its original decorations, iconographic and wall paintings. The Tabo monastery compound have 9 chapels and the 32 life size clay sculptures in the main Assembly hall are the major highlights to experience.

Later we continue drive to Dhankar village – set up in the most dramatic settings of Spiti, famous fort (in ruins) and monastery. It is a small pretty village on a hill with an open view of valley down the side. Overnight in Dhankar for 1 night.

Today after breakfast check out from the hotel at 08:30 AM and visit Dhankar Fort, Monastery and the village. Views are majestic from the top of the fort and monastery and one can see vast expanses of the Spiti valley. The setting is so beautiful and dramatic that this monastery should not be missed. You can also trek to Dhankar lake (uphill 1 hrs). Later continue your Spiti Valley Tour From Manali>, you will be driven to Chandrataal Lake 4,270 metres / 14,100 feet (130 kms / 6 hrs), where you will stay 1 night in a fixed tented accommodation. Today again you will drive back through Losar over the Kunzum La 4,551 metres and arrive at Chandrataal Lake by late afternoon, where you will check into the fixed tented accommodation under the stars.

Later walk the last 1 kilometers to visit the Chandrataal Lake also known as the "Lake of the Moon", as on full moon night it appears as if the moon and the stars have come down to the lake. At full moon night the reflection of the moon and stars can be seen in lake water. It is the largest and broadest lake in the region (1 km. in length). This clear blue water lake lies in a broad grassy plain with a presence of rugged mountains, snow covered peaks and it presents a picturesque beauty of nature to the visitors. Spend you afternoon walking around the lake and have relaxing time admiring the natural beauty of Chandrataal Lake. Overnight in Fixed tented accommodation at Chandrataal Lake for 1 night.

Today after breakfast check out from the camping accommodation at Chandrataal Lake and drive to Manali (140 kms/ 6.30 hrs) through Batal, Chatru, Khoksar and over the mighty Rohtang Pass (3,980 metres / 13,057 feet) — Rohtang Means "The Pass Of Corpses." Leaving the Rohtang Pass behind we head towards Solang valley and Manali in Kullu Valley. We do visit Solang valley and arrive Manali by late afternoon by 5:00 P.M. On arrival at Manali you can stroll at the mall road and can finish up your final shopping before returning back home. Later we will transfer you to the Volvo bus station in Manali from where you will board your overnight A/C Luxury Volvo Coach back to New Delhi arriving next day morning .

Please Note: This night of Day 5, you can even travel with an overnight A/C Luxury Volvo coach from Manali to New Delhi at the end of the tour, which is going to cost extra and we can arrange those tickets for you. Or you can extend your overnight stay in Manali for 1 night which is going to cost you extra.

It is a private tour not a group tour, means it will be organised for you, your family, and friends or for your group only - No other people will be clubbed to travel with you. The Car and the driver will be provided exclusively for you, your family or friends.

E Permits (e -Aagman) are required for All tourists to visit Chandrataal Lake or Atal Tunnel Rohtang-Koksar-Chandra taal circuit to travel from Manali or from Kaza side. Applicants travelling with a taxi/ private vehicles who want to enter District Lahaul & Spiti have to apply for E-Pass. E-Permit per vehicle is required for Atal Tunnel Rohtang-Koksar-Chandertal circuit and without it you would not be allowed to Visit Chandratal Lake or travel on the above route. We will arrange e Permits for you.

Foreign tourists require an Inner Line permit to visit some of the areas which are close to the Tibetan border. These inner line permits can be obtained for this tour from the district magistrate at Shimla or Reckong Peo in Kinnaur valley and takes around 2-3 hrs depending on the availability of the signing authority for the inner line permits. We will assist you to the government office and help you completing the formalities to obtain the Inner Line permits.

Permits needs to be applied in the morning around 10:30 AM, on working days, from Monday to Saturday. Permits are not processed on Second Saturday and other public holidays.

  • A/c in the car will not work in the hill area of Himachal Pradesh; it will be available in the plains during the rest of journey. Apart from above in some cases like Flight bookings, Train Journeys, Special hotels, beach resorts, wildlife lodges may require a higher deposit or even full payment at their discretion, especially during the peak season. Note: In case you cancel the trip after commencement of the tour, refund would be restricted to a limited amount only which too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers/ contractors we patronize.

For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation and missed meals etc., we do not bear any responsibility to refund. All bookings for the X-Mas and New Year period from 20 Dec to 05 Jan the payment is non-refundable.

What Happens If Your Government Travel Advisory Don’t Allow You To Travel

We'll keep a check that your tour meets the following criteria, for you to be able to travel as planned. Due to sudden travel restrictions by the government, if it doesn’t, we’ll give you the best options for how to change your travel plans entirely or partially. You can still choose to postpone your trip or Cancel your trip. You are eligible for a Flexible Booking Policy in below conditions:

Your source of Origin, your City or the destination you planned to travel is on the government’s red list.

Your state government don’t allows you to travel to your destination.

Your final travel destination demand quarantining on arrival or implements any strict travel restrictions.


Postpone a Tour Due to Travel Restrictions

Due to any sudden travel restrictions at your home place or at the destination you Planned to Travel – You think you are not comfortable in travelling, or it would not be possible for you to carry forward with your travel plans, in such case you can request to postpone your tour for the time, situation become normal - in the next 12 months.

Postpone of your tour, will not cost you any extra amount, and the Cost for your tour will remain the same as quoted, even if any part of the tour arrangements like transportation, accommodation price may increase in near future. The only factor to keep in mind is that you need to postpone your tour for the same season/ off season—as cost for tours in season and off season may vary and changing from off season time to season time may affect increase of tour cost.

In such case of "postpone trip" we will not deduct any amount and will postpone your tour further, which you can book any time at the notice of minimum 45 days or more, but to avail the above benefit we must have received minimum 50% of the tour amount as advance from you.


Alteration of A tour during Covid-19

Under our Policy "Book with Confidence: Our Flexibility Promise" during these uncertain times of Covid -19, you may alter your ground travel plans, free of charge, as long as the original tour departure date is outside of 90 days.


Claim a refund back in case of - cancellation of tour due to travel restrictions

In Case you Don't want to Postpone your Trip, Want to cancel your planned Tour and Want Your Money Refund Back due to travel restrictions or lockdown by the government – In such case we will deduct flat 15% from the total tour amount and transfer your balance amount back to your bank account. It might take 5 - 7 working days to make all cancellations and transferring refunds back to your bank account.

Note: The retention of 15% will cover the unseen expenses of cancelled airline tickets, train tickets, advance paid to hotels, wildlife safaris, office expenses etc. "The Above Booking With Confidence : Our Flexible Cancellation Policy" Applies in Case of Lockdown or Travel Restrictions by State/ National Government Only – and can’t be claimed earlier than 28 days and later than 5 days before starting your tour dates.

In case you want to postpone you tour for later than 12 months- it is possible, but the tour cost will increase by 10% in such case as the hotel prices, monument entrance charges and transportation charges may increase after a year.

Cancellation of Flight tickets and wildlife safari tickets may cost little extra than the flat 20%, in some cases.


Price Guarantee and Alteration of the Booked Tour

The price of your holiday is fully guaranteed and is not subject to any surcharges. The price guarantee applies to complete holidays bought from us and does not cover the purchase of individual items such as airline tickets / train tickets or any other items that are not booked with us. There are no hidden costs or extra’s in our tour prices.

Where the change is due to circumstances beyond our control amounting to force majeure, such as weather conditions, road blockage, snow fall, technical problems, civil disorder, decisions by governments or other associations, etc., we will offer comparable alternative arrangements. If any of the circumstances amounting to force majeure occurs during a tour we reserve the right to alter the tour programme, as required depending upon the circumstance, without offering any compensation.

You wish to alter your tour programme after the booking has been accepted for any reason; it would be altered only if, it is possible to alter the tour. Changing the date of departure, alteration of the tour will entail a charge of 1000 per adult and 500 per child below 12 years. Any request for alteration, once the tour has begun, will be treated sympathetically but we cannot guarantee that it can be made. Any cost incurred in making such alterations may cost extra and has to bear by clients directly.

The tour itinerary is subject to favourable weather and road conditions. In case of a bad weather and inaccessibility to certain destinations we will try our best to make alternate plans. A/C in the car will not work in the hill area ; it will be available in the plains during the rest of journey. In case you need full A/c service in the car during the tour, it is going to cost you extra and you need to discuss it with us while planning your holiday tour with us.

All the wildlife safaris booked into any of Indian Wildlife National Park/Sanctuaries are non refundable. Even date change request will be considered as cancellation and no payment will be refunded/ adjusted against it.

We request that you limit your baggage to maximum 20-25 Kgs., per person.

Internal flights in India provide 15 Kgs -1 piece luggage + 7 kgs hand baggage in cabin and extra baggage weight will cost extra charges payable at the airline, airport counter directly by clients.

Due to any circumstances, if you want to leave your tour in- between (except of lockdown by the government) then he/she/ you will not be refunded with any unused part of the tour amount.

No Refunds will be made for any unused accommodation, missed meals, unused transportation car, bike/ flights/ trains segments, sightseeing tours or any other activities/ services due to bad weather, ill health, strikes, political rallies, road blockage or any other factors beyond our controls. Rooms allocation is done by the hotel depending on the availability, at the time of your check in at the hotel and the room category are specified on your hotel confirmation vouchers provided by us. Names on travel documents must exactly match as per in details of your government id's, passport or any other identity proof.

Kindly carry your Valid Identity Proof Passport/ driving License etc., have to show at the time of check in at the hotel / airport / railway station.

People joining us on Motorbike tours -wearing a helmet, carrying a valid driving license is mandatory.

We shall not be responsible for any delays and alterations in the programme or expenses incurred – directly or indirectly – due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, missing of flights, accident, breakdown of machinery or equipments, breakdown of transport, weather, sickness, landslides, political closures or any untoward incidents.

All guests will be responsible for the safety and security of their own luggage. We will not be at all responsible for the damage/missing / lost luggage. All baggage and personal property/ belongings at all times are at the client's risk.

We do not have or provide any travel or any other kind of insurance policy covering the expenses for client’s accident, sickness, loss due to theft, or any other reasons. If required clients are advised to seek such travel insurance arrangements themselves.
