Experience
Today morning 7:30 AM, our local English speaking guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive with a car from Shimla to Khatnol village (2.30 hrs from Shimla). Khatnol village just in the footsteps of Shali Tibba is the starting point of our day hike and trek around Shimla.
We drive pass through Mashobra, Thaila and some other beautiful villages on the way, famous for terrace farming. During the driving hrs the guide will stop you at various places to enjoy the countryside views of terrace farms, mountains and river flowing down the valley. Enroute we stop at a local village to visit a traditional house and will enjoy the cup of Chai (milk tea / black tea) with the local family. It would be a good introduction to rural areas and interaction with locals.
We continue to Khatnol village from where we start our comfortable day trek to Shali Tibba (7 kms / 3 hrs one way). We follow the forest trail where you can see the remains of the old Dak road (postal road) - the stone path made in 1935 by the Raja (King) of Faridkot. Guide will serve you chopped fresh seasonal fruits and refreshments on the way.
Walking at a comfortable pace in the next 3 hrs we will reach the top of the Shali peak, where we visit the Hindu temple of Goddess kali- The Goddess of Time. Shali peak dominates the entire region and reaching on the top one can have fabulous views of the valleys, villages and the Greater Himalayan Range.
We will stop on the top of the peak for 1 hrs and enjoy our packed lunch here. After enjoying the magnificent views and some rest on the Shali Tibba top we start our descend to Khatnol village (2.30 hrs), where on arrival will be met by our driver who will drive us back to Shimla town where e will arrive in the late evening by 7:30 PM.

You will follow the day tour as a Private tour accompanied by one of our excellent local guide. Travel one way with a local taxi from the hotel to one end of the town Viceroy’s house from where we start our heritage walk of Shimla.
