The tour starts in the beautiful region of Kerala in South India from Fort Cochin ( Kochi), also known as the  “Queen of Arabian Sea”, which is the vibrant city and considered as the most important city on the west coast of India,has been drawing traders and explorers to its shores for over 600 years. No where else in India could you find such an intriguing mix: giant fishing nets from China, a 400-year-old synagogue, ancient mosques, oldest church of India, Portuguese houses and the crumbling remains of the British Raj all together grafted onto the tropical Malabar Coast of India.

Further it continues to Munnar, the breathtakingly beautiful hill station in the Western Ghats Mountains of Kerala with magnificent mountains, lakes, tea plantations, exotic species of flora and fauna, wildlife sanctuaries, and will visit the Eravikulam National Park famous for the endangered mountain goat, The Nilgiri Tahr. Further we will visit Thekkady (Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary & Tiger Reserve), where you will  enjoy the Nature and wildlife activities  including a boat tour and jungle trekking to wildlife sanctuary, a visit to the elephant camp and spice plantation

Later the tour continues to Alleppey, known as the "Venice of the East", famous for its backwaters full of immense natural beauty. The traditional wooden houseboats also enhance the beauty of these backwaters. Overnight experience on these houseboats will fascinate you and will provide you to see the local people from much closer. Further the tour continues to relax and enjoy on the beautiful beaches of Varkala and Kovalam which are the most beautiful beaches of Kerala and are described as the "Paradise of the South India"

Kovalam is not the last but you will fly to Mumbai or as it is still frequently referred to Bombay. The most modern city in India, it captures the spirit of the changing pace set by liberalization and modernisation Pulsating, Alive, On the Move and Vibrant.

Brief Itinerary : Fort Cochin (03 Nights) > Munnar (02 Nights) > Thekkady  (02 Nights) > Alleppey Houseboat (01 Night) > Varkala (01 Night) > Kovalam (02 Nights) > Mumbai (02 Nights)

You will be met from your flight to Cochin international Airport by Summit Safari's representative and he will accompany you to your hotel in the colonially influenced Fort Cochin (1 hrs from the airport.), where you will stay for three nights. This afternoon you will be free at leisure, to relax your own. Overnight stay in Fort Cochin also called Cochin.

Please Note: Cochin is an international airport in Kerala in south part of India, there are flights from Dubai (middle east Asia) / Singapore (South East Asia). If you are coming from UK / Europe or from Australia you can get your connecting flights at these places. We would like to discuss these things with you at the time of your booking of the holidays with us. You can fly with Emirates / Air India or similar Flights, with a change en route.

Today morning after breakfast we will take you for a half day of walking tour to visit the famous heritage sites of old Cochin (Fort Cochin). Having been under the control of the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British, The Fort cochin has a rich and varied history. You will Explore the heritage part by foot (2 hrs) and visit the Vasco the Gama square, the Chinese fishing nets, the church of St Francis originally built in 1503, is the oldest European church in India and has great historical significance where once the Vasco Da Gama was buried. Later we will drive to visit the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace, in Mattancherry, which features Kerala murals depicting Hindu temple art, portraits and exhibits of the Rajas (Kings) of Kochi. It was built by the Portuguese and presented to Veera Kerala Varma (1537–65), Raja (King) of Kochi. We will also visit the Jewish Synagogue- or the Paradesi Synagogue, is the oldest synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations. It was built in 1568 by Cochin Jewish community. The synagogue is located in the quarter of Old Cochin known as Jew Town and is the only one of the seven synagogues in the area Later on return back to the hotel and evening is free to Realx your own. Second night in the same hotel.

Please Note: The Jewish Synagogue is closed on Friday and Saturdays, so we can visit it on alternative days.

Today after breakfast around 09:00 AM we will start the tour, with a drive to the Kumbalanghi bridge. On arrival walk across to the jetty where country boats await to take you on the second part of your journey through the backwaters. This is where your experience of village life begins – you will see fishermen at work – casting nets and preparing to catch their ‘catch of the day’. Disembark your boat at the island where a refreshing welcome drink will be served before you set off on a further exploration into village life. Start perhaps with weavers at work on coir, or maybe watch local ladies weave coconut leaves – various other activities will be taking place which you can witness and even take part in. Fisherman will show you how the Chinese nets work – an art that is said to have been introduced by traders from the court of Kublai Khan. They operate by a system of weights and levers. The nets, on wooden frames, are raised periodically to check the catch. Traditional lunch will be served to you in the village. Later on return back to Cochin(2:30 PM) and have some time to relax. In the evening 05:00 PM we will take you to visit the famous traditional Kathakali dance show 2 hrs. Later on return back to your hotel. Third night in the same hotel in Cochin.

After breakfast we will check out from the hotel at 09:00 AM and we will drive you to Munnar (4 hrs). Munnar used to be the summer resort of the erstwhile British administration in south India and the hills are covered with tea estates. Arrive Munnar - the magnificent hill-station of Kerala, check into the hotel, rest of the time is free at leisure or to walk around the tea gardens of your own. Overnight in hotel in Munnar.

After breakfast at 08:00 AM, we will leave for the sightseeing tour of Munnar including the Rajamala National park, also known as Eravikulam National Park, located about 15 km from Munnar, this park is famous for its endangered inhabitant - the Nilgiri Thar. Spread over an area of 97 sq. km., this park is also home to several species of rare butterflies, and birds. The park offers a magnificent view of the Anamudi peak, tea plantations and also the rolling hills caressed by blankets of mists. Anamudi peak around 2,700 metres is the highest peak of south India. The park and many hills around Munnar becomes a hot destination when the hill slopes here get covered in a carpet of blue, resulting from the flowering of Neelakurinji flower plant. It is a plant endemic to this part of the Western Ghats which blooms once in twelve years. The last time it bloomed was in 2006 and the next blooming of these flowers is expected in the year 2018. Later on we will visit the Tea museum in Munnar and if interested we will also visit the the Mattupetty Dam and Kundale Lake. Today you might see the women plucking the tea leaves. On the way to Kundale Lake many times people are lucky to see the group of wild elephants also. Later we will return back to Munnar and visit the vegetable market and local market at Munnar. You can buy local tea leaves in Munnar, as it is also available in some flavours. Later on the driver will drive you back to hotel. Second night in the same hotel at Munnar.

Please Note: The Eravikulam National Park is closed on Monday

After breakfast (09:00 AM) we will drive you to Thekkady/ Periyar (4 hrs). Enjoy the natural views, and spice plantations and rubber plantations with the beautiful countryside on the way to Thekkady. You will arrive Thekkady by afternoon and will be transferred to the hotel. In the evening if intrsted we will take you to visit the tribal dance show, organized and done by the tribal people of the area of Periyar National reserve. The money of this show goes for the benefit of the education and other progress activities of the tribes of this area, or you can simply explore the Local market at Periyar.

Today early morning 06:00 AM we will leave for boating (shared boat ride) at Periyar Lake inside the wildlife sanctuary area, the boat trips are conducted by the forest department, depends on the availability of the tickets, mostly are organized through our associate office in Thekkady, in Advance. This early morning boat trip offers us a chance to see the wildlife including, elephants, wild bores, Sambhar deers, Bison, etc including various kinds of birds. Return back to the hotel after 3 hrs and after breakfast around 12:00 PM we will take you to the Elephant camp where one can ride the elephants and even can help with the washing of the elephants. We will also visit the small spice plantation area. Other optional activities includes Jungle walk, nature walk, easy walking (2 hrs) through the Periyar wildlife sanctuary and all area organized by the Forest department of Kerala with proper forest guides, and these activity depends on the availability of the tickets, as tickets are available directly at the forest office counters Around 02:00 PM we will return back to the hotel and rest of the day free to relax your own. Second night in the same hotel in Thekkady.

Today morning after breakfast around 08:00 AM we will drive you to Alleppey (4 hrs) from where we will board our house boat around 12:00 PM, to experience the back waters of Kerala. The house boat will take you on the back water canals of Vembanad Lake. Here most of the land and paddy fields are below the sea level. Alleppey, known as the ‘Venice of the East’, is a district of immense natural beauty, with a vast network of lakes, lagoons, canals and freshwater rivers crisscrossing its terrain. Today, this backwater destination is famous for its boat races, beaches, marine products and coir industry. Enjoy a full day cruise along the scenic backwaters of Vembanad Lake. The boat travels slowly on the backwater canals, where you can enjoy the beautiful views of paddy fields, coconut trees, palm trees, local villages, and local people busy with their daily work routine. You will also have a 40 minutes / 1 hrs of a canoe trip through the small water canals where the big houseboat is unable to take you. The boat halts on the water in the evening (around 05:30 PM till 08:30 AM in the morning) and you can enjoy the beautiful sunset from the house boat. All meals will be served on the house boat and overnight in house boat. We will spend entire day on the house boat experiencing the life of the local people and enjoying the nature. Overnight in house boat at Allepey.

Today around 10:00 AM we will leave the house boat and will drive you to Varkala beach in Kerala famous for its cliff. Reach Varkala by late afternoon and check in to your hotel. Later on have a walk on the famous cliffs of Varkala and enjoy the sunset from the top. Here you have a choice to have your dinner in the local restaurants on the cliffs, with beautiful views of the sunset, the beach and the sea below. In these local restaurants fresh sea food is cooked as per your choice. Overnight in Hotel in Varkala.

Today after breakfast around 08:30 AM we will drive you to the scenic beach of Kovalam via Trivandurm – the capital of Kerala. We will take you for a half day sightseeing tour of Trivandrum city the capital town of Kerala and will visit the old Palace (Puthen Malika palace) and museum in the city centre. The palace forms part of a vast complex of royal buildings in the vicinity of Padmanabhaswamy Temple. A portion of Kuthira Malika has been converted to a Palace Museum that houses some of the assets owned by the Travancore Royal Family. Although 80 rooms are there in the palace, only 20 are open for visitors. A guided tour is available inside the palace ( with the official guide of this palce and museum). The palace collections include 14 life-size Kathakali mannequins, Belgian and Italian mirrors, crystal chandeliers, paintings, a giant Belgian harpoon, musical instruments, traditional furniture, a musical tree which produces 8 sounds on tapping and other artifacts. We will arrive Kovalam by late afternoon and check into the hotel. Rest of the day is free to relax your own in Kovalam.

Please Note: Kovalam also have a very good sea side Restaurants which serve you fresh cooked sea food of your choice and are highly recommended.

Today we will have a relaxing day at Kovalam and if interested we can go for the ayurveda message therapies, water sports on Kovalam beach including the water scooter and speed boat ride. The nearby beaches to the south and north of Kovalam also provide good places for swimming & relaxing. One can spent entire day relaxing, walking or exploring the various beaches at Kovalam near to your hotel. If interested in the evening before sunset you can climb up to the old light house to enjoy the sunset and later you have a choice to have dinner at the local restaurants in Kovalam beach where the local small restaurants cook fresh sea food of your choice. Second night in the same hotel at Kovalam.

Today morning after breakfast you will be transfer to Trivandrum airport (16 kms / 50 minutes) to board your, flight to Mumbai, where on arrival at Mumbai airport you will met by the Summit Safari’s representative and your driver and they will drive you to your hotel In Mumbai. Rest of the Day is free at Leisure.

Today after breakfast we will leave for a full day sightseeing tour of Mumbai with a local guide. We will take a morning cruise across the harbour (9 kms/ 1 hrs of ferry ride) to see Elephanta Caves noted for its huge rock cuts. Later on other Main attractions include a visits to 26 meters high British-built Arch “Gateway of India”, Mumbai’s landmark built to honor the visit of George V and Queen Mary in 1911, Prince of Wales Museum, Marine Drive dubbed, as the Queen’s Necklace is Mumbai’s most popular promenades and a favorite sunset watching spot. The Kamla Nehru Park from where you have a picturesque view of the city, Hanging Gardens are so named since they are located on top of a series of tanks that supply water to Mumbai, Dhobi Ghat, & drive through the Crawford Market & the beautiful colonial buildings of the city. Second night in the same hotel in Mumbai.

Please Note: It is advisable to board the ferry to Elephant caves by 09:00 AM, so you can to complete elephant cave tour in half day (by 1:00 PM), so this will allow you to do the sightseeing tour of Mumbai in the next half day tour. Most of the monuments close by 06:00 PM in Mumbai. From the main land it takes Approximately 1 hrs one way after boarding the ferry to Elephant caves and from the jetty it is a walk of approximately 01 kilometers (20 minutes each side) to the Elephanta caves.

Today after breakfast our driver will drive you to Mumbai international airport, from where you will board your flight back to home.
