Brief Itinerary : Manali > Chandrataal Lake ( 1 Night) > Kibber ( 1 Night) > Tabo ( 1 Night) > Kaza ( 1 Night) > and back to Manali.

Today you will arrive Manali at your own arrangements. This day you will just relax which will help you to acclimatize before starting the Manali Leh Manali Jeep Safari tour.

Please Note: This day even we can pick you up from Ambala railway station ( 335 kms/10 hrs) or Chandigarh railway station / airport. Chandigarh airport is close to Manali (292 kms/ 9 hrs) and flights to Chandigarh are available from New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Chennai and from many other major cities in India. This is going to cost you extra.

OR There are day and overnight AC Luxury Volvo buses available from New Delhi to Manali directly, which we can book for you.

Today’s hotel accommodation has to be paid by you, but if you want we can book the same for you.

Today morning after breakfast at 7:30 A.M our driver will come to pick you from the hotel and drive you to Chandra Taal Lake (137 kms / 7 hrs) in Lahaul Spiti, over the Rohtang pass (3,980 meters/ 13,057 feet) -- Meaning the Pass of Corpses, which remain closed 6 months in a year due to heavy snowfall. We entered into the Lahaul Spiti valley as soon as we cross the Rohtang pass.

We will stop for various photo breaks and lunch break on the way. The road stretch from Gramphoo to Losar over Kunzum Pass (80 kms), is a quiet rough, bumpy road and we cross couple of water streams this day. Our experienced and expert driver drives carefully and takes care of your comfort and safety on the Himalayan roads.

We will arrive at the Chandrataal Lake by late afternoon. On arrival check into the fixed tented accommodation and later explore the beautiful Chandra Taal lake- which is the origin to Chandra River. Overnight in tented accommodation at Chandra Taal Lake for 1 night.

Today morning f interested you can again walk around the beautiful Chandrataal Lake and after breakfast check out from the camp and drive to Kibber (100 kms/ 5 hrs). , Kunzum La (4,551 metres/ 14,932 feet), which provides beautiful views of CB ranges and Himalayan Glaciers and the Rohtang Pass (3,980 metres / 13,057 feet). We will visit the temple on the Kunzum Pass where travellers say prayers before heading down the pass to Losar.

On arrival check in to the guest house/ home stay in Kibber and later sightseeing around Kibber including the Chicham bridge on a gorge and Gette plains, where you can walk in the open mountains. There are chances to see the snow ibex and the Himalayan blue sheep today in the evening hrs. Overnight in Kibber for 1 night.

Today after breakfast you will leave for the full day sightseeing tour to explore the World’s highest Himalayan villages and monasteries around Kaza. We will visit Key Monastery which is the largest monastery in Spiti valley. The monastery is an irregular jumble of low rooms and narrow corridors on a conical hill. The prayer chambers are interconnected by dark passages, tortuous staircases and small doors. Hundreds of monks receive their religious training in the monastery.

We will drive you to Hikkim village where you visit the World’ highest Post office located (4,400 metres / 14,436 feet). You can write and send the post cards to your loved ones from here.

You will also visit the Komic village (4,587 metres / 15,050 feet) which is now the world’s highest village joined to a motorable road. We will visit the Komic monastery (women are not allowed inside the monastery.) The village provides magnificent Himalayan Mountain views.

Later we will drive you to visit the Langza village where you will visit the village monastery and will have local lunch with a local family which belongs to the Himalayan ethnic tribal group. This will provide you a change to interact with the locals and have a deep insight to the day to day life of the people living in these remote regions of the Himalayas in Spiti valley. Langza village is the part of the most fossil rich areas in the world by the Geological Survey of India and the Geological Society of America.

After lunch we will take a walk around the statue of the Buddha overlooking the snow capped mountain peaks. We will also walk around the Langza village downhill to the road where we will be picked up by the driver and drive you to Tabo and check in to the hotel / home stay by evening for 1 night.

The villages or Hikkim, Langza, Gette and Kibber are home to the Snow Leopards in the winters when they come down from the Himalayan Mountains to the villages in search of food. We do organise Spiti Snow Leopard Winter Tour during January and February, which is the best time to see these beautiful animals.

Overnight stay in Tabo for 1 night.

Today morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and visit the Tabo monastery which is the oldest monastery in the Himalayas founded in 996 A.D. Tabo Monastery is famous for its art and History and is the oldest continuously functioning Buddhist monument in the World and the Himalayas with its original decorations, iconographic and wall paintings. The Tabo monastery compound have 9 chapels and the 32 life size clay sculptures in the main Assembly hall are the major highlights to experience.

Later we continue to Kaza, Enroute we will visit the famous Dhankar village, monastery and fort. If interested you can even walk uphill to the Dhankar Lake (1 hrs each side).

Today we will also visit the Kungri monastery in the famous Pin valley, which is a side valley in Spiti and famous for the Pin valley National Park- home to a variety of rare animals like the snow Leopard, snow ibex, the Himalayan blue sheep and the thar. If interested visit the Sagnam village and mud village which is the last village in the Pin Valley national park.

Later we continue our drive to Kaza where you will check in to the hotel / tented camp. Overnight in a hotel at Kaza for 1 nights.

Today early morning we will have our breakfast/ morning tea at 7:00 A.M and will check out from the hotel as it is a long day of driving to Manali 2,050 metres/ 7,725 feet (200 kms/ 8-9 hrs). Today we will cross over the two Mountain Passes, Kunzum La (4,551 metres/ 14,932 feet), which provides beautiful views of CB ranges and Himalayan Glaciers and the Rohtang Pass (3,980 metres / 13,057 feet). We will visit the temple on the Kunzum Pass where travellers say prayers before heading down the pass and Enroute stop for many comfort breaks, and photo breaks.

We will have our lunch at Batal, where freshly cooked rice and lentils are served in a road side local Dhaba. The road stretch from Losar to Gramphoo over Kunzum Pass (80 kms), is a quiet rough, bumpy road and we cross couple of water streams this day. Our experienced and expert driver drives carefully and takes care of your comfort and safety on the Himalayan roads.

After lunch at Batal we continue our journey to Manali over the second mountain pass Rohtang pass and reach Manali by late evening. On arrival at Manali by evening 5:30 P.M we will drop you at the Volvo bus station from where you can board your overnight AC Luxury Volvo coach back to New Delhi, arriving next morning.

Please Note: This day even you can extend your tour by 1 night and choose to stay overnight at Manali. Next day you can do the full day sightseeing around Manali and catch the overnight Luxury Volvo coach to New Delhi. We can arrange the extra night accommodation for you in Manali including the Volvo coach tickets back to New Delhi.

You will follow the itinerary as a Private tour. Internal travel by road from Manali to Chandrataal Lake, Kunzum pass, Losar, Kibber, Kaza, Hikkim, Langza, Komic, Tabo, Dhankar, Kungri, Pin valley, Rohtang Pass and back to Manali is by a private chauffeur-driven SUV car / similar vehicle.

On request Internal Flights / railway tickets/ Ac Luxury Volvo coach tickets will be provided, to and from New Delhi back at the end of the tour---or you can book your flights/ train tickets/ Luxury Volvo coach tickets directly.

These destinations are still hidden by groups of tourist, but still a good number of tourists come to explore these beautiful parts of Himalayas in North India. These places have plenty of hotels, which are well equipped with all modern amenities and comprises variety of deluxe hotels, budget hotels, guest houses, home stay with local people, fixed luxury tented accommodation.
