Special about the tour:
This bicycle tour in the Indian Himalayas takes you to one of the most beautiful and vibrant regions of Indian Himalayas. Riding on these off beat routes we explore the beautiful valleys of Kinnaur and Spiti Himalayas. We paddled through one of the most isolated, remotest and vibrant regions of the Himalayas. Entire route is flanked by beautiful snow capped Himalayan mountains, beautiful traditional villages, Hindu temples, old Buddhist monasteries, pretty clear water lakes of the Central and Greater Himalayas, vast flat grass lands, barren mountain scapes of the cold desert with stunning sand and natural rock formations and the unexpected surprises along the Himalayan roads includes the chance to spot and see the rare Himalayan wildlife.
While following the Indian Tibet border road you peddle at your own pace discovering amazing mountain beauty, miles of serene rural dirt tracks and tranquil dirt roads, high altitude lakes, high mountain passes hidden away from the bustle of town life and well off the tourist track. You will travel through lush-green terraced fields, small villages with ancient Hindu temples and Buddhist monasteries and shrines still preserved after many centuries. You explore the tribal valleys of Himachal Pradesh- the Tribal People (hardworking mountain tribes) follow the same Buddhist culture as that of Tibet and Ladakh. For centuries people in these remote valleys lived largely isolated from one another, holding and preserving the treasures and secrets of ancient civilizations untainted by modernity unmatched outside these mountains. The Buddhist rich cultural heritage with old monasteries, high passes, remote valleys, clear blue water lakes, warm hearted people having the faces and physique more like those from Tibet than of India act as a draw to artists and explorers from all over the world. We will explore the natural preserved mummy of a Buddhist monk at Gue village and will experience the rich Buddhist culture with its oldest monasteries at Tabo village in the Himalayas. We will also visit the beautiful clear water lake of Nako, and Chandartal Lake in the Isolated parts of Himalayas.
